Dear Northwest Families,
I can’t believe it is almost time for school to begin! It seemed like yesterday when the 2013-2014 school year ended and we are now planning the opening of the 2014-2015 school year. The faculty and staff are looking forward to another outstanding year at Northwest High School.
I can’t express in words how proud I am of the accomplishments from last year and I look forward to more successes during this coming year. Last year we focused on the Critical Reading process which allowed students to interact with rigorous texts. We also completed our five year accreditation review and I am happy to announce we are accredited for another five years. During this coming year, we will continue to promote college and career readiness by providing our students the skills to be college and career ready. We will focus on writing during the 2014-2015 school year which will continue to prepare our students for the new Kansas College and Career Standards. Northwest has always had a tradition of academic success and I look forward to continuing to build on this strong foundation.
Student success would not be possible without the support of our parents and families. Thank you for supporting Northwest HS and allowing us the opportunity to work with your student(s)! We will continue to achieve at high levels and build on the successes already established at Northwest by maintaining high expectations for all students.
In addition to parental support, our core values help guide us each day. A common understanding and acceptance of our core values is important for all students and families. At Northwest our core values of pride, respect and excellence help drive and guide us in making decisions to benefit all students.
