A-Day

It’s that time of year again. If you are interested in becoming involved with what goes on at Northwest, run for Student Senate office! See Mr. Woody or Mr. Alldaffer in C-2, that’s just inside the library, and pick up an election packet. Packets are available now, so don’t delay. Election week for next year’s sophomores will be April 6th through the 9th, and the following week, April 12th through the 16th, will be election week for next year’s juniors and seniors.

Students and staff,
Starting Monday, March 8th Northwest will be collecting money for the annual Pennies For Patients fund drive. The money collected will be given to the Wichita Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and it will be used for research and for the care of people who suffer from these diseases. Please bring your change or your dollar bills to your English class, and let’s see which class can raise the most money.

The lost & found are once again over flowing with coats, hats, gloves and other items. If you are missing any of these items you should come by the security office to claim them. All unclaimed items will be donated to charity at the end of the school day on February 11th. Have a great spring break thanks security.

It is Theatre for Life month and the Northwest Theatre program is celebrating by working on three shows for performance in March, April, and May.

March 26th and 27th at 7:00 p.m. “People’s Lives” a evening of one-acts will be performed.  Four shows each night directed by students of Northwest.  Admission is FREE.

April 8, 9, 10 “Shadowboxing” will take the stage in the commons for the Chad Marsh Memorial Scholarship Production.  A sketch comedy dinner/theatre show that is sure to entertain all.  $2.00 of every ticket goes to the Chad Marsh Memorial Fund which is available to all Northwest High School students.  Dinner starts at 6:30 and the show begins at 7:30.  Tickets for just a show are $6.00, tickets for dinner and the show are $10.00.  Contact Mr. Lundin at 973-6045 for menu and dinner reservations.

April 29th, 30th, and May 1st is the Drama 3/4 production of “Fugue” by Lee Thuna.  A play of discovery, coping, and a commitment to people.  Listen for more information about this production in the future.

Help support the Northwest Theatre program and have a great evening out at the same time.  We hope to see you there.
