Northwest High School
has an active Parent Teacher
Association.
PTA is the largest volunteer child advocacy organization in the
United States with
the mission to support educational
issues and legislative funding for education. At
Northwest, our
activities include support of staff and students
through a number of both academic and educational programs. We support Safe
Homes Network, a School Bookstore for students' convenience, concession
stands at school events, a Directory for students, charitable donations
for the holidays, and Volunteer recruitment and organization, as well as
financial support for things needed at the school to support student
achievement. During the 2006-2007 school year the
PTA will also be responsible for the "Grizzly Excellence Program" which
recognizes students for outstanding achievement in many different areas, by
placing a recognition document on the Grizzly Wall of Excellence. Northwest PTA is here to support and speak on behalf of our students. We look forward to welcoming you as a member. If you would like more information, please contact Leslie Swearingen or Liz Hendricks. |

Parents -- We need you! Your support of the Northwest PTA is very important. We need people to volunteer, and if your time is limited, you can also show your support by just joining PTA. Stop by our table at enrollment and join a great organization that helps our school in so many ways. Family membership is only $7.00 and single membership is only $4.00. Volunteer opportunities include hospitality, concessions, book store, chaperone of dances, Jr./Sr. Prom, and Library Aide. Sign up sheets will be available at enrollment. We also meet once a month. One of the programs that PTA supports is fulfilling staff wish lists. Each year staff submits requests for items for their classroom or for the school. The PTA evaluates these requests and this year we have approved a large number of items totaling $10,916. These items include:
