You can have a chance to join an award winning program at Northwest. Either join the Northwest Explorer News paper, bringing current events at Northwest to the students, or join the Silvertip Yearbook staff, to preserve your ideas and "touches" in an annual book full of memories.
If you decide you want to be a part of this exciting yet challenging field, you will begin in the introductory level such as Journalism 1 or Yearbook 1. After completing your first year, you will move on to the more advanced courses that allow you to expand your responsibilities and experience as a Northwest Grizzly Journalist, working for a student-run publication. Dedication, team-work, responsibility, and commitment are the qualities you need to become a genuine Grizzly Journalist. Certain positions require a certain amount of experience, so don't think that you can become the editor-in-chief right when you walk into your Yearbook 3 class. Also, it is advised that you have a good sense of computer knowledge, as you will be working with iMac computers and Adobe software.  Good Luck!
