Business Technology is a three part education program for Juniors and Seniors who are considering a career in business or need a rounded education understanding personal finances and economic concepts. The program ties school and career options together. Students attend regular classes, including Business Technology, during the day and report to their individual work sites in the afternoon. They receive credit for class and work experience, as well as WAGES from their employers! A highlight of the Business Technology experience is participating and competing in the events of the student organization Business Professional of America |

Class Experience The classroom activities are directly
related to the employment experience. Students develop occupational
skills, receive personal
finance education, job counseling and explore careers.
In addition students use the newest technologies to complete tasks commonly needed and requested by businesses. Prerequisites: * Students enrolled in Business Technology must make a full year commitment to the program |
Job Experience Employers provide supervised training. As students gain experience, they are encouraged to tackle more complex tasks and assume additional responsibilities. This gives students a deserved sense of accomplishment, self-confidence, and pride. Juniors work an average of 10 hours per week and Seniors work at least 15 hours per week. The student and Mrs.Rovenstine work together to obtain a computer, financial, or office-related work experience. Progress is measured by the coordinator's monthly visits to the work site, student conferences and employer evaluations. Placement is determined on the student's readiness to be successfully in position.
