Service Projects

Each year Student Senate is involved in numerous service projects.  The service projects benefit both the community and Northwest High School.

These are just a few of the organizations supported by Student Senate:

• United Way- The largest charity project is sponsored by National Honor Society, but many Student Senate members helped in the process.  A certain percent of United Way collections goes directly to Northwest to help those students in financial need. Northwest is usually the largest high school contributor to this charity in this part of the state.  This year the student body gave a helping hand and raised more than $???!

• Operation Holiday- Student Senate sponsors a can drive.  The class that donates the most cans was awarded the giant spirit stick.  

• Salvation Army Angel Tree-Usually the Northwest Student Senate chooses a few children off the Angel trees and purchases gifts for them. 

• Adopting a Family-In previous years adopting a family has been one of the Christmas service projects Student Senate involves itself in.  About $200 is donated to each family towards purchasing gifts.
