History of yellow ribbon

Dale and Dar Emme came home to find a note. "Don't blame yourselves, Mom and Dad, I love you." It was signed, "Love Mike 11:45pm". In a move that totally stunned all who know him, Mike shot himself at a time of deepest despair. At 11:52pm his parents pulled into the driveway behind that bright yellow Mustang, - seven minutes too late!

Mike was a beloved friend and son.  He put himself before others. It seemed that he was a happy teenage just going through the usual part of growing up. Little did his friends and family know that he was going through more.

Mike owned a 1968 yellow Mustang. This car was his pride and joy. Everyone knew it was his car. When he died, his friends began to wear yellow ribbons on their clothing to represent mike and his car. To this day a yellow ribbon is known to help people get through hard times.

Mikes parents started this program to help other teens in need. They wanted people to know that there are other people that are willing to listen and be there to help.
