Congratulations to the debaters who competed at Wichita East this past weekend. Advancing to the quarterfinals of open competition were Blake Headley and Myles Schwartz. Placing 4th in the novice division of competition were Samantha Newberry and Logan Bui. Great job everyone, and good luck this weekend!
Congratulations to the Cross Country team on another outstanding performance. In the varsity girls race, Alyssa Frausto broke the school 4K record with a time of 15:03 in the race. Following close behind her was Gabi Reyna who finished third and Keyanna Patterson who finished 14th. Also receiving medals at the race was Madelaine Keller, Samantha Kuns, Amy Tracy and Kelton Simkins. The season continues with the City League Championships at Cessna Activity Center. Congratulations to the students who placed 2nd at the Kansas State Fair journalism competition on Sept. 11. The print team was made up of junior Emily Dulohery, senior Madison McCollum, senior Cody Kretchmar and senior Taylor Allen. The team interviewed, wrote stories, took photos and designed a 4 page newsletter in a matter of hours. Well done, Northwest Journalism!
Yesterday the Lady Grizzly Golfers won their 6A Regional by 28 shots over Garden City and Maize at Reflection Ridge Country Club. Senior Lexi Clark won Individual Honors and Senior Alex Jennings finished second after dispatching a Garden City Golfer in a one hole sudden death play-off. Senior Sarah Crigler also medaled finishing seventh overall. The Lady Grizzlies head to Topeka Country Club next Monday to vie for the 6A State Title! GO GRIZZLIES
