Wichita High School Graduation Requirements
Required courses for graduation include:

  • English: 4 (units/credits)
  • Social Studies: 3 (units/credits)
  • Mathematics: 3 (units/credits)
  • Science: 3 (units/credits)
  • Physical Education: 1 (unit/credit)
  • Fine Art: 1 (unit/credit)
  • Financial Literacy: .5 (unit/credit)
  • CTE (Career Technical Education): .5 (unit/credit)
  • Electives: 7 (units/credits)
Total Credits for Graduation: 23

Junior planning to go to college after high school need to take the ACT at least twice their junior year.  You may register online at  You must have a credit card or debit card to register on line and use the Northwest school code 173214.  Students on free or reduced lunch can take the ACT free two times.  See Mrs. Tibbetts for a fee waiver.

Juniors and seniors are allowed TWO school-related college visits per year on the condition they meet the following criteria:
     1. Inform attendance at Northwest of the impending visit 
     2. Bring a business card of the person they visited with within THREE school days to Mrs. Tibbetts.  
         If these two conditions are met, the absence will be considered excused and school-related.


Various representatives for colleges, technical schools and military will be schedule to visit with NW students on Tuesday and Thursdays during Advocacy.  visiting organizations will be listed on the CCC website.  If you would like to visit with a college representative please let Mrs. Cramer know so that you will receive a pass.
