DECA: Preparing Emerging Leaders and Entrepreneurs
DECA is a student organization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. Through hands-on learning, competitive events, and real-world experiences, DECA helps students develop critical thinking, leadership, and professional skills that set them apart in college and the workplace. Our DECA chapter empowers students to explore their passions, build confidence, and connect with a network of peers and professionals dedicated to success.

At Northwest Esports, we bring teamwork, strategy, and school pride to the competitive world of gaming. Our players represent Northwest in local and statewide tournaments, facing off against schools across a variety of popular titles. From fast-paced shooters to tactical team games, every match is a chance to grow, compete, and connect.

FCCLA is a Career and Technical Student organization focused around career preparation, building leadership skills, building strong relationships, applying interpersonal skills, and character development, We meet the 1st and 3rd Tuesday each month during lunch in room E3

For the Culture is not a traditional club, but an advocacy initiative designed to support African American students in building strong, positive connections to their school environment. The initiative was created in response to district data showing that Northwest High School had the lowest graduation rates among African American males. With administrative support, we surveyed students to better understand their needs and identify strategies to improve school connectedness and build meaningful relationships with peers. Activities include field trips, guest speakers and periodic group luncheons all aimed at fostering pride, respect, and excellence goals of the building. Staff members recognized as allies help students navigate classroom and peer challenges. This year For the Culture will collaborate with the newly formed Black Student Union to expand its reach and impact.

Genders & Sexualities Alliances, or GSAs for short, are student-run organizations that unite LGBTQ+ and allied youth to build community and organize around issues impacting them in their schools and communities. The NWHS GSA serves as a safe space for LGBTQ+ , We discuss issues regarding social change related to racial, gender, and educational justice. Group activities are determined based on the needs and wants of the group.

Grizzlies for Change is an inclusive student leadership organization that all NW students are encouraged to join.  We meet every Thursday during Advocacy in room C8.  To attend a meeting, just request an e-Hall pass from Hastiin Kitchen and type Grizzlies for Change for the reason.  All NW students can read about our events and activities by joining our Microsoft Team with the code 9axg3y9.

• Grizzlies for Change empowers students to assume roles that support families and communities through civic action and service-learning opportunities.
• Active students experience leadership in action by inspiring a collective purpose, making plans, experimenting beyond their comfort zones, coping with uncertainty and conflict, trying to energize and mobilize others, and adapting.
• Grizzlies for Change students organize and participate in annual events such as Turkey Drive, Youth Mental Health Advocacy Day at the Capitol, a Red Cross Blood Drive, and Kite Day with the Bear Buddies. 
• Students develop and organize new events based on their interests and availability. 
• Students have opportunities to attend leadership conferences and competitions. 
• Students who meet requirements earn a USD 259 letter in leadership.
• Seniors who meet requirements can wear a cord at graduation.

It is a club for Hispanic students (or students interested in Hispanic culture) to meet, plan, and organize.

NAHS provides opportunities for students who exhibit passion in the visual arts. Students can participate as a member or they can be elected into one of the 4 leadership roles. NAHS members will help promote arts in our school and community. Activities include helping to organize and promote art shows for NWHS artists, running fun art booths at events (face painting, stamp making, drawing activities etc. NAHS members are currently painting murals in our building, working on the Keeper project, and painting a Little Library for NWHS language arts department. 10 hours of community service related to the arts are a membership requirement.

The National Honor Society is an organization that recognizes high school students who excel in scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Applications open in the Spring semester, and students must be willing to keep a high cumulative GPA and commit to at least 30 community service hours per year of membership. Students also come together to do a yearly service project for the community.

ProStart is a national program geared to have students ready to join the workforce and make an immediate impact in restaurants and foodservice. ProStart students are closely connected to industry experts through guest speakers, class mentors, tours of local facilities, hosting student competitions, and more – all to ensure real-world experience is brought directly to the classroom.

Science Olympiad is a national STEM competition for middle and high school students where teams compete in a variety of science and engineering events, including study, build, and lab-based challenges. The organization aims to improve science education by fostering problem-solving, teamwork, and interest in science through hands-on activities and a balanced curriculum. Events cover a wide range of subjects like biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering, and competitors are recognized for their achievements.

Tri-M Music Honor Society

Tri-M Music Honor Society focuses on creating leaders in music advocacy and future music educators. It recognizes students that have gone above and beyond both musically and academically. Tri-M also provides students leadership opportunities to make a difference in their community through music-based service projects.

The feminist clubs meets once a month on Thursday's in Ms. Clarks room c11. The feminist club is designed to advocate for equality in our school and community. We provide free feminine hygiene products in the girls restrooms, have classes on self defense, promote understand of feminism and want to want with local womens shelters.

Young Life is a club that meets on Tuesdays during lunch to eat pizza and experience hope in community together.  

We meet three times a month. 

Second week of the month: Pizza Fellowship - Come play games with friends.

Third week of the month: Small Groups - Come study the Bible in small groups.

Fourth week of the month: Club - Come play games, win prizes, and learn about Jesus.
